We believe people who have experienced mental health services know better than anyone what works — and what doesn’t – and can give valuable feedback to decision makers. That lived experience is powerful, and when shared, it can help shape services that truly meet people’s needs.

Our Mental Health Lived Experience Advisory Groups (LEAGs) are a way to make sure those voices are heard. They bring together people with lived experience of mental health challenges — including some carers — to talk honestly about what could be better.

We work closely with commissioners and service providers across Brighton, Hove and Sussex to make sure real experiences help guide real change. Sometimes, professionals attend LEAG meetings to hear directly from members. Other times, we support members to sit on strategic boards and working groups, making sure the lived experience voice is part of the conversation.

We’re always looking to welcome new members. If you have lived experience of using mental health services and want to help make them better — for yourself and for others — we’d love to hear from you.
