Hustings
Your chance to ask local politicians about their views on issues affecting disabled people in the run up to local elections.
There have been many local issues which impact on disabled people and people with health conditions in the public eye over the last few months.
We have organised this meeting (hustings) because we want to provide an opportunity for all political parties fielding candidates in May’s local elections to set out their vision for how the local authority will continue to meet the different needs of its residents and visitors.
The event is free to attend but please reserve your space via Eventbrite if you can.
Join us at 4.00pm for networking and refreshments. Question time starts at 4.30pm.
If you have any access requirements, please let us know in advance.
Ask a question
We want to make sure our panel members will have an opportunity to discuss a wide range of topics.
Please submit your question in advance of the event so we can put them into broad themes. The questions will not be shared with the panel in advance and you do not have to put your name to them if you’d prefer not to.
Submit your question to hello@possabilitypeople.org.uk We will also take questions and comments from the floor on the day.
For more information about the event please email hello@possabilitypeople.org.uk or telephone us on 01273 894040
What is a hustings?
A hustings is a meeting where election candidates or parties debate policies and answer questions from the audience. Hustings provide voters with an opportunity to hear the views of candidates or parties.
In this case, the questions and discussion will relate to issues faced by disabled people and people with impairments.
All parties standing have been invited and the hustings does not promote any particular candidate or party because they all have the opportunity to speak and be questioned.
