New electric car charge point to support disabled drivers
A new electric vehicle (EV) charge point, designed to be accessible for disabled drivers, is being trialled in two bays at Rottingdean Marine Cliffs Car Park this month. From 14 February, disabled drivers of electric vehicles are being asked to use and test the bays.
Brighton and Hove City Council are working with Possability People’s Disabled Car User Forum and BADGE to encourage feedback on the scheme. Things like the height of the chargers and width of the bays, as well as the ease of using the new booking system, will help with development of the project.
The city’s electric vehicle charging operator, EB Charging, have been building and developing software to enable users to pre-book an EV charging bay, through the EB Go! app. This includes an option to request assistance should users need support.
If you would like to take part between 14 February and 31 of March, please contact parkingprojects@brighton-hove.gov.uk.
