New advice service for disabled people launched in East Sussex

A new advice service has been launched by a local charity which supports disabled people in East Sussex. Possability People’s  specialist service will provide information and advice on allowances and benefits, housing, money, debt, assistive equipment, grants, and other local groups and services in East Sussex.

The charity works with disabled people, older people, young people, anyone with an impairment or long term health condition, and their carers; it meets the Advice Quality Standard.

An experienced team of independent advisors are available on Monday – Friday, from 10am – 4pm on telephone number 01424 234460. They can also be reached by email esussexadvice@possabilitypeople.org.uk. Anyone who needs advice, or knows anyone who might need advice, is encouraged to telephone the service for support.

The charity also runs other services in East Sussex. The  Continuing Independence Service supports people to stay well and independent. Email them at support@possabilitypeople.org.uk to find out more.

And if you would like a chat about what financial support you might be entitled to, the  Direct Payments Support Service can be emailed at dp@possabilitypeople.org.uk

Note to editor

The advice service was previously provided by East Sussex Disability Association (ESDA)  until their closure in August.
