Advisor & Project Coordinator

Fixed Term (to end March 2022)

30 Hours per week

We are a Brighton & Hove based charity who works with disabled people, older people and young people, or anyone with an impairment or long term health condition. The Advice Centre offers benefits advice from entitlement check through to support at 1st Tier Benefits tribunal, for clients in the Brighton & Hove area, their carers and professionals.

This is an exciting opportunity to join our busy Advice Team as an Advisor and Project Coordinator for a fixed term project that extends our offer into East Sussex. You will be providing specialist and high quality welfare benefits advice to clients, including carrying out advice work, appointments and tribunal casework up to 1st Tier Tribunal.

You will have a good knowledge of welfare benefit entitlements, including disability related benefits, and have a lived experience, or an understanding of the barriers disabled people face. You will be committed to the provision of quality services and support for disabled people, be able to manage and prioritise a diverse workload and be a team player.

Initially you will work from home (during the present Covid 19 crisis), at a later time you will be based in our Kemp Town office.

 

Part time post            30 hours per week, Fixed Term until March 2022

Salary                         £24,491 per annum (pro rata) NJC Band 5, pt 17
